A high-level conference on our entry into the eurozone begins. It is entitled “Bulgaria on the threshold of the eurozone“ and will be held at the “Boyana” residence, Nova TV reports. The conference is part of the communication campaign for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria from January 1, 2026 and is organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Bulgarian National Bank.
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and Kristalina Georgieva, who is the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, will participate in it. The keynote address will be given by the President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde.
The Leaders' Dialogue will start with a video conference with Pascal Donahue, President of the Eurogroup and Minister for Finance of Ireland, followed by a roundtable with the Bulgarian Minister of Finance, Temenuzhka Petkova, Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, Dimitar Radev, Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Enforcement and Simplification, and Pierre Gramegna, Managing Director of the European Stability Mechanism. The high-level event will be moderated by Lilyana Pavlova. She is Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (2019-2023).
After the conference, joint press conferences are expected by the President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde and the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Dimitar Radev, and respectively by the European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and the Bulgarian Minister of Finance Temenuzhka Petkova.
