The Chairman of the Bulgarian People's Party (PP) Assen Vassilev opposed the idea announced today by the Chairman of the BSP's PG Dragomir Stoynev for BEH to acquire "Lukoil".
Vassilev expressed doubt that the value of the refinery's assets can be estimated at 2-3 billion dollars:
"When acquiring an asset of such a scale, international, you work with some of the major investment banks around the world. You work with huge teams that usually spend 12 months in a full assessment of the assets, reserves, market readiness and everything else, and then decide at what value and in what way to acquire such an asset. This is not like buying a pair of shoes."
Assen Vassilev insisted that the ruling party revise the draft budget for next year and submit it to the National Assembly.
Earlier, "We Continue the Change" announced that the National Council had elected Nikolay Denkov as deputy chairman of the party.
Ethical rules for the members of the party have also been adopted.
