The co-chairman of “Blue Bulgaria“ and leader of the KOD party Petar Moskov sharply criticized the draft state budget for 2026, defining it as “a capitulation of political governance to socialist philosophy“. In the studio of “Your Day“ on NOVA NEWS he stated that this is a budget "in which the state takes from those who produce and gives to those who always ask".
"This is a budget that accepts socialism as a philosophy of governance. A budget without the will for structural change, in which the government refuses to reform the systems that eat up our money without efficiency", said Moskov.
He emphasized that the conversation is not about the specific numbers, but about the lack of a right-wing political alternative that would oppose the "distributive logic" in governance.
"The conversation about the budget is becoming more and more socialist. More and more taking from the people who produce, and more and more giving to those who want. The differences between the ruling party and the opposition in this parliament are only technical — "their philosophy is the same," Moskov said.
According to the leader of the KOD, the GERB party has finally abandoned its role as a right-wing political force.
„Borisov said he wanted to be like Assen Vassilev. Okay, but that means that GERB are now socialists. And it is sad that the last barrier to socialist thinking in government is falling. GERB has joined the long cohort of Bulgarian socialists“, Moskov commented.
He described as “perverse but true“ the assessment of the chairman of the AIKB Kiril Domuschiev that “everyone is crying after eating the meatballs“. According to Moskov, the problem is not with large employers, but with the tens of thousands of small and family businesses that work but do not receive support.
“The problem is the small people who do not want to live on the back of the state. They are the backbone of the economy and they must be protected. At the moment they have no parliamentary representation“, he said.
Moskov, who is a former health minister, also sharply criticized the health system, which according to him “is absorbing more and more funds without any result“.
“Every year we give a billion more for health care, and the service is getting worse. The problem is not the lack of funds, but the fact that the money is sinking inside the system“, he said.
Moskov insisted on a structural reform, in which the number of contracted hospitals of the Health Fund would be reduced from 340 to about 100.
„The Fund cannot conclude contracts with everyone. We need concentrated resources and quality. This means higher salaries for doctors, but also control. If a hospital does not guarantee quality, what is it for? To drain money from the Fund?“,
