We insist that Rumen Spetsov come to parliament every month to present his plan and report on the progress on it!
This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by Yordan Ivanov from "Democratic Bulgaria", a deputy from the PP-DB's PG.
"The real problem with what the state will do with "Lukoil" has not been overcome. The appointment of a special administrator is the first step with which we overcame a momentary crisis.".
In the "12+3" program, the deputy announced that he had asked a series of questions to the Minister of Economy Petar Dilov, related to the deal with the arms concern "Rheinmetall" and the protection of the national interest of Bulgaria, to which he did not receive an answer with the explanation that this is a trade secret.
"This is a violation of the law on the part of the minister, since deputies can receive information that is a trade secret and are obliged to keep this secret, but the minister is obliged to answer. On the other hand - my understanding is that when public money is invested, there should be no trade secret. Thirdly - the answers to all the questions that I ask, we will find out after the announcement in the Commercial Register of the general commercial company, together with "Rheinmetall", i.e. everything I ask will be made public and clear, but then it will be too late and we will only draw conclusions about whether the national interest is protected or not".
The news that there will be NATO production in Bulgaria is good, our only concern is whether our national interest is protected, Ivanov emphasized.
"Public information about the investment of "Rheinmetall" in Bulgaria is worryingly scarce. The Minister of Economy refuses to reveal basic parameters of the deal and this raises serious questions about the protection of our national interest.... It can only be protected if fair conditions are agreed at the very beginning. Once the company is established, any subsequent discrepancy will be the result of what the authorities have agreed in the dark and justified with the convenient shield of "trade secrets". I call on the Minister of Economy to immediately disclose all information on the deal — the stage of negotiations, the agreed parameters and the commitments made. Bulgarian society cannot be kept in the dark when decisions are being made about the most significant defense partnership of our country in decades.... With the distribution of the shareholding - 51% against 49%, the key question for governance arises: which decisions will be made by a simple majority and which - with a qualified majority? This directly concerns the national interest and the possibility of the state exercising control over a company in which it plans to invest a billion leva. You guessed it - – "trade secret", the politician pointed out.
