Action against budget adoption

"We continue the change" called for a protest and blockade of the National Assembly building in order to thwart the adoption of the budget for next year. They received the support of "Vazrazhdane" and criticism from GERB leader Boyko Borisov, BNR pointed out.

"Yesterday we saw the "triangle of power", full of people who are absolutely dissatisfied with the policy of this government, with this budget that wants to reach into their pockets to fill the coffers of the government," said PP leader Asen Vassilev today.

Because of the public support received, he emphasized, their efforts to thwart the adoption of the budget for next year will continue. These include a new protest and a blockade of the National Assembly building on Tuesday, when parliamentary committee meetings are scheduled.

According to GERB leader Boyko Borisov, the protest is not just against the budget, but against Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone:

"The fact that we are entering the eurozone cannot but worry the PP and the DB. The goal of the protest is to occupy the parliament, to prevent the adoption of the first budget in euros".

Assen Vassilev denied:

"Mr. Borisov, it doesn't matter whether this budget is in euros, in leva, in rubles or in Turkish lira. If you are going to steal from the budget, we will be against it - no matter what currency it is in".

The leader of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov declares support for the protest and the blockade, but with a condition:

"I like what I hear and we will certainly join in. But I don't know exactly how they imagine the occupation of the parliament. If they imagine it with happenings and pink piggy banks in front of the parliament - it won't happen like that. If they want to achieve an occupation, an occupation is done in the way that we from "Vazrazhdane" have shown that one should protest. If they want to protest like us, together with us, we are ready to support them".

Vassilev is ready to accept the support:

"Every Bulgarian citizen who doesn't want to have 600 euros in their pocket is welcome to the protest, but that doesn't matter for the Eurozone".
