The protest against the ruling party in the center of Sofia ended with the performance of the Bulgarian anthem. The organizers indicated that there would be no procession.
Many citizens gathered tonight at Independence Square in the center of the capital to demand the removal of Delyan Peevski's influence from the judicial system and to ensure fair elections through machine voting.
Once again, thousands filled the space between the Bulgarian National Bank, the parliament, the presidency, and the Council of Ministers. They also held posters with the inscriptions "Big D out of Bulgaria" and photos of Delyan Peevski.
"This is a farce", "Ours is not a bluff", "For fair and free elections", read the posters.
Police presence - again around the building of the National Assembly, as well as in front of the Council of Ministers.
Video walls showed the goals of the protests - resignation of the government and withdrawal of the budget - as fulfilled; the removal of the security of Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski, the removal of the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov and fair elections - as still unfulfilled.
An address was also released by the President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, Sven Hahn.
There were Bulgarian and European flags at the protest. It was announced from the podium that the protest in front of the Courthouse for independent justice was joining and merging with the protest against the ruling party.
The MP from "Democratic Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev stated that the main goal of the protests and their political demands is the complete elimination of corrupt influence from Bulgarian political life:
"The general demand is that Peevski be swept away from Bulgarian political life, his influence - his influence on the judicial system, his cronies like the Commission for Combating Corruption, Anton Slavchev, the Prosecutor General, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the services, all these corrupt people who are holding them with compromising material. All this must either be swept away, or this problem must really be solved. Machine voting so that there can be fair elections. These are the most important things we want right now," said Mirchev.
The movement of cars in the area of the National Assembly has been restored. The movement of both cars and public transport has also been restored on "Tsarigradsko Shose" Boulevard.
Earlier today it was blocked due to the protest against the government, which ended with the performance of the anthem shortly after 8:00 p.m. After that, some of the protesters withdrew to Orlov Most and "Tsarigradsko Shose".
Earlier this evening, citizens gathered in front of the Sofia Courthouse with a call for the resignation of the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. According to the protesters, the current higher judiciary in Bulgaria is illegitimate:
Hundreds of people protested this evening in Plovdiv and Varna. There were also protests in Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora and other cities.
