In the first month of the year, the first two days are off - January 1 and 2.
In February, there are no additional days off.
In March, we will have an additional day off only on the 3rd - the country's National Holiday.
Traditionally, we will have four days off for Easter. In 2026, the holiday falls on April 12, we will rest from Good Friday - April 10, to April 13 - the second day of Easter.
In May, we will rest on the first day - Labor Day, this year it falls on a Friday. This will form three consecutive days off together with the weekend of May 2 and 3. May 6 (Wednesday) - Bravery Day and St. George's Day - will also be a day off. There will be no additional days off for this holiday in 2026.
At the end of the month, another long weekend is formed. May 24 - The Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture and Slavic Literature, falls on a Sunday. Thus, there will again be three consecutive days off, since according to the Labor Code, when official holidays coincide with Saturday and/or Sunday, the first or first two working days after them are absent.
There are no additional days off in June, July and August.
There will be a long weekend in September at the beginning. September 6 - Unification Day is on Sunday, which means Monday - September 7 will also be a day off. Independence Day - September 22, in 2026 is on Tuesday.
There are no additional days off in October and November.
In December, the Christmas holidays start on Thursday, which means there will be five consecutive days off including the weekend. Christmas Eve (December 24) falls on a Thursday and we will be closed until Monday - December 28.
The last day of the year - December 31, falls on a Thursday, but it is traditionally a working day. This year, the Council of Ministers voted to make December 31 and January 2 non-working days, which also created five consecutive days off.
