„Continuing the Change“ launched a petition for an independent international investigation into the "Petrokhan" case. The petition states:
The cover-up operation around the "Petrokhan" hut cost the lives of six people, including a child.
Data has emerged that the National Security Agency had its own recruits in the organization related to the case, which raises serious questions about what the state knew and when. At a hearing in the plenary hall, Denyo Denev was unable to answer with a firm "no" to the question of whether this is true.
Unanswered questions
So far, there are no clear answers and specific results from the investigation.
It is not clear:
- Why were timely measures not taken?
- Was there institutional inaction?
- Was there no umbrella stretched over the activities of this group?
Lack of transparency
Instead of transparency and taking responsibility, we see attempts to politicize the tragedy and use it for attacks against the PP–DB. Political spokespeople and media channels have been activated, while there is essentially no explanation for the failure of the services and the actions of the leadership of the institutions.
An explanation is owed to the heads of the competent institutions, including Denyo Denev, Borislav Sarafov, Daniel Mitov and Kalin Stoyanov, for whom there is evidence that he received the first signal against the hut while still the director of the GDBOP.
Need for an independent investigation
The way in which information on the case is being managed creates the feeling that an attempt is being made to divert attention from the real issues. This does not look like improvisation, but like a pre-planned action.
That is why an independent international investigation is needed to establish the facts objectively.
Our demand
We insist that the future Minister of Internal Affairs, whoever he may be, demand an independent international investigation into the “Petrohan“ case.
“Continuing the Change“ calls on all citizens who want the whole truth about the “Petrohan“ case to come to light to sign the petition at: https://www.peticiq.com/petrohan#form
