The fired head of "Medical Supervision": I received a number of threats. The pressure was constant - 1

The former director of the Executive Agency "Medical Supervision" Ivanka Dineva made a comment after the Minister of Health dismissed her from her position. She claims to have received threats during her time in office.

"This is a completely political decision that has nothing to do with my expertise, the work of my team, or the real results we have achieved in recent years," Dineva writes.

"It is paradoxical that against the backdrop of the donor situation that we announced yesterday, I was released with the official reason that coordination and efficiency in their implementation need to be “improved“. My release comes at a time when the system is working and the teams are mobilized and focused on saving human lives. The ministry still has unsigned documentation related to the financing of the upcoming European Transplant Games," she also wrote.

According to her, she went to the Ministry of Health today with documents from a completed inspection, which shows that a medical facility where a child died should be closed. The inspection found that the medical facility had operated outside the rules set by the health authorities. According to her, the minister did not want to hear about it, and the documents were accepted by the agency.

"During the time I headed the IAMN, I received a number of threats. The pressure was constant. But I have never backed down from my principles and my obligation to protect the law, patients and work while adhering to medical standards. I have always believed that control in healthcare should be uncompromising, regardless of the consequences," Dineva also wrote.

She sincerely thanks the entire team of the Executive Agency "Medical Supervision" and points out that she has worked with professionals who have made difficult decisions and carried enormous responsibility every day.

"I am proud of the results achieved and the efforts we have made for stricter control, more transparency and patient protection. I am leaving with my head held high," she concluded her post.
