Bulgaria and Romania to jointly request consultations under Article 4 of NATO. The situation in the Middle East is escalating dynamically and requires an adequate response from the state. At this stage, the caretaker government of Andrey Gyurov is acting as expected, with the Security Council to the Council of Ministers set to present a clear plan for further action. This was stated by the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev told journalists on the sidelines of the National Assembly, quoted by BTA.

The political leader paid special attention to military activity in the region, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance of the institutions.

"Bulgaria must be prepared for a potential threat, as ballistic missiles have been launched at Turkey, as stated by Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov. From now on, there is potential for even worse developments and we must be ready for this," warned Ivaylo Mirchev.

Regarding the possible convening of a National Security Advisory Council (NSAC), the co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria" specified that the assessment and decision are entirely within the powers of President Iliana Yotova.

Mirchev categorically rejected speculations about the increased passage of foreign military aircraft through the country's airspace. He assured that our country is fulfilling its allied commitments without becoming a direct participant in the conflict.

"The problem with the overflight of allied forces over Bulgaria simply does not exist. These are absolutely routine activities and such planes fly over constantly. The important thing in this case is that Bulgaria is not participating in this war and is not a springboard for attacks on Iran. It won't be like that", Ivaylo Mirchev was categorical.
