The increased consumption can be explained. Not only the Ministry of Energy - here we are talking about an unnecessary, artificially induced hysteria, because the feeling of higher bills must be argued with real figures and data. Everyone can have whatever feeling they want when they have used as much as they have used. There is no room for feeling there. On the other hand, it became clear in the parliament that they received about 4,600 complaints, which were 200 per day. By the end of the month, there will be 10,000. With 4.5 million electricity meters in the country, even if there are 50,000 complaints from consumers with a feeling of high bills, they are not a systematic error and are not a problem of the system - just a feeling. This was announced to Lili Marinkova in the studio “FACTI“ and the program “Conversation“ by economist Yavor Kyumdzhiev.
“In this particular case, out of all the over 2,500 individual signals checked so far in the KEVR, 5 errors were found - mistaken electricity meters, defective electricity meters or defective clocks on the electricity meter. At 10 pm, the clock switches the tariff from day to night and at 6 am - from night to day. If the clock does not switch to night in the evening, the reported consumption is charged at the day tariff, which is higher than the night tariff, and a problem may arise. This is a factual error that can be detected when checking the electricity meter“, the guest added.
“However, when someone has consumed more - for example, 30% more than last year - he actually consumed more and there is no error in the electricity meter, the reporting system, or the invoicing system. That is why we must fight this feeling. Something like a mobile application can be introduced that would be connected to every electricity meter and every consumer, which would show consumption in real time. Such an idea is being launched in parliament. This way, everyone will be able to log in to their account and check with a high degree of accuracy how much they have consumed in a given period. I believe that in this way we will also fight this feeling“, added Kyumdzhiev.
