The world is not safe. There is no way Bulgaria can be safe when the means of military force outweigh the means of diplomacy and this has become a practice in recent years. Special attention must be paid to our internal security. This was stated by former Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev in the program “Panorama” on BNT.
I support the changes in the Ministry of Interior, because the task of the service cabinet is to ensure fair elections. The employees who occupied the top positions of the police in the professional leadership had the chance to organize elections twice - once at the central level, which the Constitutional Court rejected, and the elections in Pazardzhik. There was no way the service cabinet could ensure fair elections. The main danger of the elections is that the citizens' vote is not stolen or not changed, he added.
When asked whether these changes were coordinated with Rumen Radev, Demerdzhiev was categorical: “No”.
In the “Petrokhan” case, many answers are due not only from the Ministry of Interior, but also from the State Security Agency. One of the main questions that stands before me is why the main witness, the eyewitness who found the bodies in Petrokhan, immediately left the country after giving testimony, why he did not request protection from the Bulgarian state and whether he trusts the Bulgarian law enforcement agencies, Ivan Demerdzhiev admitted.
Mr. Sarafov has usurped the position of the Prosecutor General. All state bodies must unite in every possible way and remind Mr. Sarafov that he cannot usurp this position and must cede it. From there on, the Supreme Judicial Council should fulfill its functions. By the same logic, it may turn out that the Prime Minister remains in his chair after his term of office has ended, and the President too. This must be resolved immediately, because the question arises of what a person is doing who does not have the legal right to hold this position. This is legally intolerable and must end immediately, the former Interior Minister emphasized.
According to him, the situation in the sphere of justice in Bulgaria and law enforcement activities must be sharply improved, because the current situation is extremely tragic.
