Yesterday I saw another statistic, according to which Bulgaria tops yet another negative ranking in the EU - the number of victims in accidents. This was stated by the acting Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov at the beginning of today's meeting of the Council of Ministers.
If in a country with so many victims corruption eats up money for road repairs - this is not theft of money, but theft of lives, he was categorical.
I expect the regional minister to report on what is happening in the inspection at the RIA. I want to make it clear how the money earmarked for road repairs and maintenance for four years was spent in one year. How come there are still protests all over the country about the poor condition of the roads, potholes and ruts, given that the money has been used. Even "Road Assistance" is protesting that the RIA is stealing, not repairing, added Gyurov.
