The chairman of one of the section election commissions in Plovdiv has collapsed. An ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital. For this reason, the section was briefly closed to voters.
According to information from Nova TV, in 6 sections throughout the city the machines have malfunctioned and have switched to paper-only voting. Voter turnout in the district as of 3:30 p.m. is 34.48%.
Meanwhile, the "Stolipinovo" neighborhood is under police blockade. There are gendarmerie and police forces around the schools, stopping to check cars. Between 60 and 80 people voted in the polling stations in the neighborhood, with about 800 voters eligible to vote.
A total of 482 polling stations have been opened in Plovdiv. 12 of them are located in medical institutions, social homes and places of deprivation of liberty, in order to ensure the opportunity for all citizens to vote.
For the first time in these elections in Plovdiv, a “Golden Corridor” is being introduced. The polling stations that fill out their protocols correctly and precisely will receive a special code. This code will give them an advantage when submitting the ballot papers to the District Election Commission by tonight.
