What the leaders of the so-called status quo parties in Bulgaria do not realize is that the European Parliament elections do not end on June 9.
This is what MEP Radan Kanev said for BTA in Dobrich. He added that everything starts after June 9, when the formation of a majority in the European Parliament among the member states begins. Then the people who will occupy the most important positions in Europe will be determined.
„First of all, on June 9, the determination of the priorities of the European Union begins, which will be valid for five years. We will decide what Europe will look like from 2024 to 2029. At the behest of the status quo parties in Bulgaria, we face this moment without a government, with a barely formed parliament, which is sad. But we have to make up for it mainly with the efforts of our MEPs, so it is extremely important what kind of people, with what qualities, with what responsibility will represent us in this critical period in the European Parliament“, Kanev also commented.
According to him, the decision to go to elections is extreme irresponsibility, which exposes the state to many risks. “From now on, we have to talk about how to overcome these risks, given that the unnecessary elections will take place,“, the MEP also said.
