President Rumen Radev hinted that Bulgarians will go to the polls twice in June. This became clear when the PP-DB was handed the second mandate.

Bulgarians will vote for the first time on June 9 in the European Parliament elections.

A week, two or three later, it will be necessary to vote in extraordinary parliamentary elections.

Former members of the CEC have already commented that it would be best if the second vote were on June 23 or June 30.

During the handing over of the second mandate, former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov made a request to the President that the elections be combined "two in one".

Let the Bulgarian people not pay 100 million extra, he said.

Kiril Petkov pointed out that these funds can be spent in a more adequate way. Our request is that these 100 million do not belong to the presidential institution, nor to the parliament, nor to the Council of Ministers, they belong to the Bulgarian citizens - if we can save them, let's save them, if we can't, we can't, he added Petkov.

It is already too late for such a request, the president replied. I will do everything possible to ensure that the process of choosing a cabinet does not turn into a constitutional crisis. You did everything possible to severely limit the powers of the presidential institution, said Rumen Radev.

Kyril Petkov lost his temper and talked about elves, Notaries, etc., to describe the dramatic situation in the state, but Radev interrupted him and replied that he would not talk about elves.

„I have no intention of going into the fairy tale forest with elves, etc.

I did not appeal to the Constitutional Court in relation to the judicial reform, but in relation to the others on the basis that these changes will lead to crises and one of them will unfold in the coming weeks and months”, countered the head of state.

„I sympathize with you, but you have done everything possible to prevent this institution from being able to dominate the processes, as before. "One crisis is already knocking at the door and it will unfold in the coming weeks and months," the president warned.

And he recalled that the president is limited, both in terms of choosing a caretaker prime minister and in choosing the time when the next elections will be held.

„I called not to undertake thoughtless changes in the Constitution, especially in relation to the official cabinet. You have undertaken them and now the questions are becoming far more than the answers.

I will do everything possible to ensure that the process of choosing a cabinet does not turn into a constitutional crisis.

You have done everything possible to have the powers of the presidential institution severely limited – both in terms of the composition and control over the official cabinet, but also in terms of determining the time parameters for the process of determining the next elections," said Rumen Radev, quoted by "Epicenter".

Denkov stated that he is convinced that the most suitable option is for the elections to be “2 in 1”, so as not to “prolong the process” and to save at least BGN 100 million. According to him, from now on it depends on the procedure, on the mandate holder who will accept the third mandate, on the people who have to assume the position of prime minister. It is normal for there to be difficulties when there is a new procedure (for the appointment of an official cabinet – author's note), the resigned prime minister also said.
