The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture accepted on second reading the proposals for changes to the Law on the Ownership and Use of Agricultural Lands, submitted by Desislava Taneva from GERB, BNR announced.

They envisage that the properties from the state land fund will be leased and leased to farmers from the sectors of fruit growing, vegetable production and animal husbandry.

Properties from the state land fund will be leased only through an auction, with priority given to local farmers in the sensitive sectors "Fruits", "Vegetables". or "Livestock".

This is provided for by some of the changes in the law. Their philosophy is to support local producers and therefore they will have priority in using the lands from the state fund.

The Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber categorically supported the introduced changes. However, the owners of agricultural lands objected to some of them and warned that they would refer the EC.

They invoked the Constitution, which guarantees that private property is inviolable.

It is proposed that the agreement concluded between the users shall enter into force when it is signed by not less than 2/3 of the users and provided that it covers not less than 2/3 of the area in the respective land For the remaining 1/3 of the users who have not signed the agreement, an official distribution of the arrays will be prepared.
