Military Minister Todor Tagarev denied that he had become the "apple of discord" in the negotiations between GERB-SDS and PP-DB for a new government, which failed.
"I have full confidence in Academician Nikolay Denkov and he assured me that my name was not mentioned during the negotiations," Tagarev told BNT.
He urged the Bulgarian society not to worry that we are giving away too much of our already scarce military equipment.
"We're definitely not giving it our all. The Cabinet understands that aid to Ukraine is an investment in our own security. There is no need for people to worry about losing their combat capabilities," Todor Tagarev said.
In his words, the main change that happened during the administration of the Denkov cabinet is that "Bulgaria managed to position itself again, that we are part of NATO and that we understand that Russia is an aggressor and we have a moral and strategic interest of helping Ukraine."
