The anti-corruption fund: The case of the Notary's widow was handled by his partner's wife - 1

The Anti-Corruption Fund (AKF) discovered a new link between Martin Bojanov - the Notary Public, who was ostentatiously shot dead in January, and the independent justice in our country.

The organization has a protocol on the random selection of judge Margarita Nemska as a judge reporter on a secret administrative case at the Administrative Court – City of Sofia (ASSG), on which the Notary's widow is a party – Gergana Bojanova.

Judge Nemska, who was also the deputy city prosecutor of Sofia, is the wife of the former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Security Service, and now a lawyer - Emil Piskov, who was consecrated as a partner of Martin Bojanov – The notary in the ACF investigation “Quick Control List”.

The case concerns Bojanova's access to classified information, which was the reason for her release as an investigative police officer from the GDBOP.

It was assigned to judge Margarita Nemska, who ruled in favor of Bojanova. Its decision was also confirmed by the Supreme Administrative Court.

What's more - according to ACF data, Emil Piskov, his wife judge Margarita Nemska, the late Martin Bojanov and his widow Gergana Bojanova had two documented joint exits and entries through the border crossing into the territory of the country in October and November 2020.

„These close family relations, together with the common business of Bojanov and Piskov, should be the reason for Germany to withdraw from Bojanov's case. As we have often observed recently in the court-prosecution cases on Petyo Petrov's parallel justice networks – The Euro and Martin Bojanov – Notaries, closely intertwined family, business and collegial relationships constantly emerge around them, which for the participants in them, however, are nothing wrong and cannot influence the impartial resolution of files and cases,“, commented Nikolay Staykov from ACF.

The ACF specifies that, according to the declaration of property status of Judge Nemska and a publication by bird.bg 2, in 2022 she and her husband Emil Piskov bought an apartment in Barcelona worth almost one million BGN.

A reference from the Spanish Land Registry and an on-site inspection by ACF have shown that the property is located in the central part of the city in a luxury residential building and is currently occupied.

The topic of the property status of the family of Piskov and Nemska is interesting with a view to investigating the correspondence between the property acquired by them and their legal income, especially given the data on Piskov's activities as a partner of Martin Notarius, the organization points out.

„The identity of the other wife from the Bojanov-Piskov duo is also curious. To this day, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has not given a serious explanation as to how Gergana Bojanova was appointed through an external competition as an investigative police officer in the GDBOP, what checks were carried out before her appointment and with what results they ended. The current director of the GDBOP, Yavor Serafimov, only explained that only after her appointment was a discrepancy found between the data provided by her about her property status and the real situation, and she was released, adds Nikolay Staykov.

„The whole story clearly shows the multitude of “contacts made” between magistrates, officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and criminal elements, which remain without proper clarification. Probably because this must be done by these same people in these same institutions who are trapped in “contacts”, concludes Boyko Stankushev, director of ACF.

AKF also publishes a reference from the Property Register of Barcelona and photos of the apartment purchased on 14.12.2022 by the family of Piskov and Nemska in a luxury building in the ideal center of Barcelona for the sum of one million BGN.
