Anxiety about the new is understandable. Every new thing scares, especially in times of uncertainty. This is what he said in the program "More from the day" on BNT, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Affairs and former Minister of Justice Nadezhda Yordanova on the occasion of the statements, including by President Rumen Radev, that there is a possibility that the changes in the Constitution related to the appointment of a caretaker government will lead to a constitutional crisis.

In Parliament today we passed legislative changes to reassure people in senior positions that their terms of office will not be interrupted. We are legally settling a circumstance that was factual before, noted Nadezhda Yordanova.

Our idea was that the regular government should remain until the formation of the next regular government after the elections, but this idea was not accepted by colleagues from GERB – SDS and DPS, that's why we switched to the Greek option. The idea was not to reach this semi-presidential model that was set. I believe that despite his criticisms, President Radev will not throw the state into chaos simply to oppose the political parties, emphasized the chairman of the Commission on Constitutional Affairs.

In her words, the failed rotation of the government and early elections will inevitably delay the judicial reform.

I try not to see in these statements attempts to escalate tension and instill uncertainty in Bulgarian society. Similar statements were heard, for example, when the specialized courts were closed, when the mechanism for the investigation of the chief prosecutor was introduced. In each of these cases, we went through the same tense stretches. None of these things happened. I think that with a reasonable and responsible attitude there will be no problems, said Yordanova.

I see no danger of a constitutional crisis. I think we are socially responsible people and we will not allow this, the former justice minister pointed out.

Actually, this situation – appointing an acting prime minister from persons who hold high positions is not something new for Bulgaria. For example, Stefan Sofianski, after serving as caretaker prime minister, returned to the post of mayor of Sofia. It is new that, at the constitutional level, the choice of the president was limited to a certain circle of persons holding high government positions and who were appointed to them through democratic elections, she added.
