Hristo Ivanov: The president is leading a campaign of intimidation and hysteria about the situation - 1

Our expectations for a caretaker government are without minister Kalin Stoyanov and e-government Alexander Yolovski. The leader of “Yes, Bulgaria” Hristo Ivanov in an interview with BNR.

„These are the two ministers who have a key role in holding transparent elections. Jolovski was involved in the machine scandal that marred the local elections and 500,000 votes were thrown in the bin. And he took no responsibility. He cannot be a minister, Hristo Ivanov argued.

In the program “Politically INCORRECT“ he comments on the collapse of the assembly, the upcoming elections and the expected results after them.

„We are going to elections because we have arrived at the distribution of debt power in the judicial system and regulators. Because GERB and DPS have 100% in it and did not want to be replaced, especially in the judicial department. When they saw that we would not back down, they began to blow up the process. 7 times they declared “end of the process and we are going to elections”. They were always looking for opportunities. The big reason is Peevski's ability to determine the majorities in the judicial system”, explained Hristo Ivanov.

According to him, the next elections are to fill the regulators and the judiciary, to have a transparent process, competition and qualities of the candidates or “Peevski will appoint them – that's the bet”.

The leader of “Yes, Bulgaria“ is categorical:

There can be no doubt that we did not agree to sacrifice the judiciary and the regulators.

For the next parliament, he says that there will be no compromise on these topics:

He who is afraid of bears does not go to the forest. We are deep in this forest and we will pay the price. The question is whether society will pay the price - let Mr. Peevski drink his coffee.

On the constitutional changes, Hristo Ivanov commented:

We did not have an independent constitutional majority. Consensus is sought for the decision. Who suggested it, I can't remember because the conversation was last summer. This model is the only alternative that exists in space and the universe. I do not accept that this model should be declared a mistake, it is more complex to implement, but its complexity is a democratic element to ensure consent and balance. I don't want to behave in a different way from the model.

According to him, the problem of constitutional problems arose because: We were thrown into elections before it was built. If your wife can't sleep, then you are not fit to hold a high constitutional post.

„The president is running a campaign of intimidation and hysteria about the situation. This is not constructive. He wants to get back the previous model and single-handedly consume the executive power”, Hristo Ivanov said.

And added:

GERB interrupted the elections 5 times, introducing an inconsistent list of ministers, and refused to continue the negotiations. They blew up the formula that was adopted 9 months ago. Their decision was made under the strong influence of Peevski. All the time he had and has a huge impact on Boyko Borisov. From the moment it became clear that we will not accept in the regulators and the judiciary - that Peevski will be given the role of the golden finger, who will determine the majorities and who will go there, it has become increasingly dangerous and will lead us to elections.

Ivanov admitted that after the elections “we will talk to the people the voters send to the parliament.

"I think voters have a real interest, not in liking us, but with whom we will talk. And we will talk about what we have shown - that we are not ready to sacrifice him. The first question is whether it will be possible to broadcast a government – can it be with a commitment to the reforms, but in writing. Then who are those people in the individual sectors who can carry them out, but with arguments. And not some paratroopers going there. We will talk to everyone who is ready to make reforms. This is our focus throughout the process – reforms", the co-president of Democratic Bulgaria explained his hopes.

He hopes that the PP-DB will be the first political force and “we will work for this, and we will try to convince the voters that this makes sense".

"To give us strength, to enforce these priorities. If the voters focus on coffee, it means that they will start drinking Peevski's greasy coffee, because they will give him the power. The question is to be stronger and to stand up for these priorities, for which it has been proven that we do not give in", Hristo Ivanov expects trust from the voters.
