A new open-type prison dormitory will be opened in Vratsa. It was built according to European standards for serving sentences and for the working conditions of its employees, BNR reported.
The new prison dormitory is housed in the former building of the metrology and standardization office, which is located near the Vratsa prison. The construction works started two years ago.
The building has been renovated and converted into a prison dormitory that meets European standards for an open-air prison. For those deprived of liberty, better conditions are provided for serving the sentence, and for employees - better and safer working conditions.
The capacity of the dormitory is up to 180 inmates. The facility is part of a project to provide a secure and safe material environment in prisons and detention centers, which is financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The new dormitory will be opened by Deputy Minister of Justice Georgi Nikolov.
