Daniel Mitov: Kalin Stoyanov is the Minister of Internal Affairs with the votes of GERB-SDS and PP-DB - 1

The official cabinet is Dimitar Glavchev's attempt to mix political balance, expert balance and continuity. This was commented in the BNT studio by the deputy chairman of GERB, Daniel Mitov.

Of the mentioned names, GERB has something in common with proposals for defense minister - Atanas Zapryanov, as he was a deputy minister in Boyko Borisov's government. Daniel Mitov commented that he did not know some of the people on the list and denied that GERB was behind Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov.

"How can the interior minister be ours, since Kiril Petkov invited him? Stoyanov claims that Petkov called him to invite him to be a minister on the one hand, on the other hand he claims that Mr. Petkov pressured him to appoint his bodyguard as chief secretary to work for the elections.

PP is trying to remove a person who does not listen to them, and their attempts to control the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been unsuccessful, and this infuriates them, Mitov also commented.

Kalin Stoyanov is the Minister of Internal Affairs with the votes of GERB-SDS and PP-DB - apparently a consensus figure, as well as all the other figures from the cabinet, which has now left. The fact that the PP woke up at one point and decided that they had to take control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not give us a reason to allow them to do something like this.

He accused the resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov of creating suggestions and not being aware of what is happening in the country.

"If a Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is under investigation, the most normal thing is for him to resign. We did not understand anything from today's press conference, except that the PP is trying to return the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs back to his post, most likely they pressured him not to resign.

A possible new coalition with the PP can only be discussed after the elections, Daniel Mitov pointed out.

"Until we have a clear result - how do I know - the Bulgarian citizens may trust us enough to govern independently.

To the question whether GERB is running away from a coalition with DPS, he answered:

"We have not stigmatized partnerships, but Boyko Borisov said that we will not form a government with DPS. In order to make a stable government, there must be broad legitimacy.
