As far as I understand, the investigation is against a Belgian company, not against Nastimir Ananiev's company. Everything is currently in the realm of rumours. The same applies to the situation surrounding the former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev. If we want people to trust the justice system and institutions, we need to stop bombarding them with rumours. One must work with facts and documents.
This was stated in the program "Denyat live" on NOVA NEWS, the deputy director of the European Council for Foreign Policy and head of the Sofia office, Vesela Cherneva, who commented on the latest scandals in our country and the upcoming European elections.
"People who use the institutions for political purposes should not do so, because what is happening in Bulgaria is being observed and this does not affect its image in any way in front of our partners. The other thing is that with all these scandals, people will be completely demotivated and won't go to vote. For me, that's one of the goals - to keep people from going out and voting. The debate is not focused around the real problems, but around some rumors and half-truths," she added.
Not only in Bulgaria, internal problems dominate the European elections. Everywhere the extreme right and the extreme left are trying to instill fear and riot. The ultimatum vote could shake the entire European Union, especially in the area of solidarity. This will give the greatest attention to smaller countries like Bulgaria. We did research that showed that the fears of people in Europe are different - the war in Ukraine, migration. The far-right easily make promises and speak in populist terms, and this is by no means a good thing," said Vesela Cherneva.
