Nikolay Vassilev said this in the Euronews Primetime studio – former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy.
“We have not had such a period. For me, this is a bad period for the state”, he pointed out.
For the last 27 years, we have not had a period in which so much money was wasted without any reforms, there were ever-increasing expenses, there were huge deficits and the state's debt grew by 5-6 billion BGN every year.
“For me, the policy of left populism, extravagance, debt deficits, huge spending and zero reforms is not the right policy. I don't know if anyone will be able to turn her around because it's very difficult. That is, if you force the sled down the slide, it is very difficult to stop it. Someone must have the courage to do it one day”, Vassilev stressed.
These are the people who spent the most in the history of Bulgaria since Khan Asparuh until now.
“For the last four years, government spending has doubled”, noted the former Minister of Economy.
“Bulgarian taxpayers from all over the country paid the heating debt of Sofia, the richest city. Why? And is that in the budget? It's not there, of course”, Vassilev also commented.
