The world is at global war - 1

Russia has become a revisionist enemy in the Black Sea and wider Euro-Atlantic waters. At the same time, the Chinese navy is growing rapidly in the Indo-Pacific, and yet a number of countries continue to deny this.

„Russia has become a revisionist enemy in the Black Sea, no doubt, and also in wider Euro-Atlantic waters. And while the People's Republic of China's navy is growing at an astonishing rate in the Indo-Pacific, a number of countries still deny it either. So we need to start connecting all these dots and we need to start communicating very clearly to a wider audience why sea power is important. In addition to this, there is another layer that is very important, and that is the understanding of the intensifying geopolitical competition that we find ourselves in”. This was said by Victoria Staric-Samuoliene, co-founder and director of strategy at the Geostrategy Council, co-organizer of the First Sea Lords Sea Power Conference, made this statement during the Second Black Sea Security Conference.

„All who now enjoy justice, freedom and democracy owe it to Ukraine,” said Peter Van Praag, president of the International Security Forum in Halifax.

According to him, Ukraine gave the allies a certain optimism, which motivated them to provide weapons and go on the path of isolating the aggressor. Meanwhile, Russia is working to convince the whole world that Ukraine cannot win.

Peter Van Praagh pointed out that everyone needs to understand what is happening now – it is a global war where Ukraine is on the western front, Israel is on the southern front, and to the east is a frozen conflict in Taiwan. According to him, despite all these internal political processes, the allies must remain united.

The consequences of the conflict in Ukraine are being felt in the narratives that Russia is spreading in the Middle East, especially those about US double standards, since the Russian-Ukrainian war has ceased to be regional.
