Radev and Glavchev decide on reshuffles in the cabinet - 1

Today, President Rumen Radev and Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will hold a new meeting of “Dondukov” 2 to decide on the reshuffle in the caretaker government, NOVA reported.

The political outcome of the case with the minister of foreign affairs in the office is expected. A week ago, Glavchev requested the replacement of Stefan Dimitrov. The first offer was to Daniel Mitov from GERB, but he refused after a number of criticisms. Thus, the Prime Minister announced that there is no “Plan B” and decided to take this post himself. The president advised him to think until Monday.

According to the head of state's legal advisor Krum Zarkov, Radev will not delay the decrees if Glavchev is sure of his decision. Thus, tomorrow after the conversation, the head of state is expected to issue two decrees – for the replacement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and for the replacement of the Minister of Agriculture, which was also a proposal from the Prime Minister.

President's legal advisor Krum Zarkov specified that Radev does not have a deadline by which he must issue the decrees, but he does not expect any delay.

“The President clearly stated that he expects Glavchev's final decision on Monday. The President also very clearly emphasized that this decision for him to also be Foreign Minister seems strange to him, so we will see from their conversation what the Prime Minister ultimately decided. It is his word and responsibility. If the prime minister is firm in his decision, the president has no reason to delay the decrees, Zarkov said.

According to him, combining the two positions will present Glavchev with a serious challenge. “ There are many challenges for a prime minister. It is not easy for the foreign minister, who also has direct responsibility for the organization of the elections. So Glavchev will take on a very serious responsibility, we hope he is ready for it, added Zarkov.

And it is believed that the responsibility for what is happening should be sought in the National Assembly, which will sit for three consecutive days before going on vacation due to the elections.

” There is no doubt that the responsibility for everything that is happening lies with the three parties that voted for the latest changes in the Constitution. These are GERB, PP-DB and DPS. They carry their own weight in the current National Assembly, Radev's advisor stressed.

Vice President Iliyana Yotova also came out with sharp criticisms against the until recently partners in the government. “Until yesterday, the ruling coalition was no longer united in its interests, which is where the shootings started,”, she said.

BSP leader Cornelia Ninova did not approve Glavchev's second proposal for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs either. She said she expects the speaker of the parliament to schedule the requested vote of no confidence against the cabinet. “Is it Daniel Mitov or Glavchev - it is Borisov. It's as if we are appointing Borisov as foreign minister, because both of them are bright faces, not GERB. GERB will conduct the elections abroad. Naturally, we don't agree with that”, Ninova said.

Tomislav Donchev urged: “Let's try to have a slightly calmer political narrative that has a connection with the laws of logic”.

Expectations are that after the meeting with the prime minister, the head of state will issue both decrees on the changes in the cabinet.
