BSP arranged the lists: Rumen Gechev second for the European Parliament - 1

The BSP plenum determined the candidate lists for the parliamentary and European elections. Christian Vigenin was elected leader of the Eurolist. He was followed by Rumen Gechev, Tsvetelina Penkova, Vyara Emilova, Filip Popov, Alexander Simov and Gergana Alexova.

Women in the entire list represent 40% of all MEP candidates.

„I have been nominated for MEP and I have given my consent. However, a decision of the BSP National Council is awaited. There is nothing sensational about our programs. Our main goals and policies are not different, we follow them and do not embrace “bad comrades”, said Rumen Gechev from the BSP before a session of the party's plenum.

According to him, the MEPs' motto should be “Dignified Bulgaria in the EU”.

The internal opposition in “Positano 20” is dissatisfied with the fact that the party's leadership has not been able to unite all left-wing formations such as the “Left“ and "Solidary Bulgaria", which includes Vanya Grigorova. In the local vote, Grigorova was supported by the BSP and came well ahead in the runoff. In the elections, however, she will appear in formation with Maya Manolova
