Elena Yoncheva made the wrong choice, running for office from the DPS list. This is what he said in the studio of “Offensive with Ljubo Ognyanov” the deputy chairman of the BSP Christian Vigenin. He led the party's list for the European elections. The decision was taken at the centenary plenary on Saturday.
„The BSP's ambition is to show that a different policy is possible, that MEPs can defend Bulgaria's dignity with the risk of displeasing the main position in Brussels. However, all this must be based on clear principles. Here is the big problem,”, said Vigenin.
According to his words, five years ago all the members of the centenary fought to protect Elena Yoncheva's seat in the European Parliament. “Now she landed on Peevski's knee. This is truly inexplicable for us," the BSP deputy chairman pointed out. According to him, “there is hardly a person who voted for her 5 years ago, and now does not regret his choice”. Vigenin is adamant that Elena Yoncheva made the wrong choice by running on the DPS lists.
„It is a pity that people who could have been a serious part of a real left-wing alternative decided that their path was elsewhere. A large part of them demonstrate surprising political cunning,”, the socialist also said, emphasizing the political biography of Vanya Grigorova.
Kristian Vigenin also commented on the majority with whose votes the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, was ousted. “There was no coalition here, which was some form of lasting political interaction. There was a coalition of political formations that were fed up with abuse of the rules of the NA”, the deputy pointed out.
