Many people who think with their wits and are involved in the processes in Bulgaria are confused. They know that what is happening now in Bulgaria has been happening for decades.
This is how Boyko Stankushev, director of the Anti-Corruption Fund, commented on the situation in an interview with BNR.
„The political overconfidence of the PP-DB coalition, especially in this long period of peaceful sticking and sticking with Peevski, the moment he became #1, their susceptibility to accept everything Borisov says as true, will it costs a lot“, predicted the journalist.
His prediction of the results of the election is that the turnout will be slightly higher than expected, but there will not be such electoral changes and reshuffles as will give the people who want, honestly and honorably, restored statehood and start to crush the backstage hard.
„The surprise will be what resources Mr. Delyan Slavchev Peevski will use and involve in order to reach the cherished 100,000 votes in Turkey and, respectively, in Europe, there is potential there, Stankushev predicted.
In the show “Sunday 150” he commented on the revelations of the Anti-Corruption Fund, the work of the prosecutor's office, the silence of the prosecutor's office and how far the parliamentary committee "Martin Bojanov-Notary" reached. And he warned that he would be subject to self-censorship because some people are “offensive”.
„These people, as well as the head of SGP Iliyana Kirilova, did not draw any conclusions, no useful conclusions, not only from the Anti-Corruption Fund, but also from other investigators, journalists, media and NGOs who wanted this judicial reform", commented Boyko Stankushev.
And added:
"The important thing is that when a lot of people and the media realized that things had been pretty murky and bloody for years, the beginning of some kind of dialogue was definitely started. The hearings in the parliamentary committee chaired by Nikola Minchev started with the Anti-Corruption Fund. Of all the hearings, the one we attended, 3.30 hours, was the most useful. Because no one limited the factuality that we poured there."
According to the journalist, “purely politically, everything that is taken out and proven serves only one side – factology, who took pictures with whom“.
„I doubt if they will prove anything at all”, admitted Stankushev.
He explained that the overall picture is about “extreme influence of old political clans tied to big corporations with big economic interests”.
„Because politicians cannot reach the height if they are not elected. The selection of politicians is done with dependencies, arrangements, money, and this has been going on since before the fall of Todor Zhivkov. Things are well constructed to protect the economic interests of people who were factors in the past. It is about mountains of money and great addictions," the director of the Anti-Corruption Fund is convinced.
“Even with Pepi Evroto and Martin Bojanov-Notariusa, there is factual evidence, which is proven with questioned witnesses. Things are documented and nothing is done. Because where there were conscientious employees, at middle and low levels in the services, they were not allowed to report and their files went higher. Neither KPCONPI nor the prosecutor's office is involved. They searched where there was a danger of leaking information, they successfully suppressed so as not to damage the interest of this backstage. I am not saying that Boris and Peevski are the most important. They are themselves instruments of other larger interests. I don't remember that KPCONPI has done anything useful in the last 5 – 6 years", comments Boyko Stankushev.
For example, he pointed out that the services knew to the hour and the minute about a lady, the owner of a bank, who carried BGN 1 million for Martin Bojanov in a briefcase and he took them: “Everything is described, when they passed checkpoints, car numbers, where they went, it is described to the hour and minute.
And he stated that political compromises were always made and “it made me uncomfortable when they were naively made”, referring to the assembly.
„We are talking about the erosion of the elites in Bulgaria, if they are elites. The prosecutor's office has always been part of the election campaign, said the director of the Anti-Corruption Fund.
He commented on the arrest of Petya Bankova and the prosecution's investigations:
"The battle for control of customs and Captain Andreevo's laboratory has been going on since the new year began. Since 1989 there has always been control, through trusted people, criminal types with networks and in synergy with political factors. My only regret is that the day before, before Bankova's arrest, she called me and wanted a personal meeting. Due to health problems, and I was not in Sofia, I could not respond."
According to him, no crimes will be proven and nothing will come out of the arrest of Bankova and the photos of Zhivko Kotsev.
