In the Haskovo village of Koren, the great Christian holiday of Easter will not be celebrated properly this year, because the church there has been collapsing for years, BNT reports.
The church "St. St. Constantine and Elena" in the village it was built 100 years ago, but it is currently in ruins and will probably be demolished because it is dangerous.
Years ago, a priest used to come to the village at least on holidays, but today people have nowhere to light a candle. That is why they are looking for assistance from the Metropolis in Plovdiv to create a church board and to open a donation account to collect funds for the repair of the church or the construction of a new one.
