The Constitutional Court opened a case regarding the premature termination of the mandate of Stanimir Mihailov< /strong> as manager of the National Health Insurance Fund. This is known from a message on the court's website, published today, which states that the case was initiated on April 25.

The case was initiated at the request of people's representatives against the decision of the parliament of April 17. According to the people's representatives, there is a contradiction with the principle of the rule of law and legality and the principle of separation of powers.

On April 17, MP Vasil Pandov from “We continue the change– Democratic Bulgaria“ (PP-DB) announced that the Constitutional Court will be referred to whether it is possible for the National Assembly to release someone who does not want to be released, without any other reasons.
On the same day, the parliament released the manager of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Stanimir Mihailov. The point of premature termination of the mandate of the head of the National Health Insurance Fund in connection with the resignation of Mikhailov from December 1, 2023 was included for consideration at the proposal of the Speaker of the Parliament Rosen Zhelyazkov.
