"Heating Sofia" has filed an intention to supply for the new price period from July 1 thermal energy at a price of BGN 97.78 per megawatt hour (MWh) excluding VAT. The proposed price is 29.11 percent lower than the current price, which is BGN 137.93 per MWh.

This is stated in an application of the district heating company to the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation, quoted by BTA. The company adds in its statement that in 2023, 4,385,812 MWh of thermal energy were produced, which is 7 percent less than planned for the price period. Climatic factors are cited as the reason for this.

"Heating Pleven" proposes in its application that the price of thermal energy become BGN 56.10/MWh from July 1, while the current price is BGN 96.94/MWh, which is 42.13 percent lower than the current price.

From "Heating Burgas" however, they offer to sell the hot water for BGN 118.52/MWh, which is currently BGN 95.20/MWh, and in this case the increase is 24.50 percent.

The heating company in Veliko Tarnovo offers for the upcoming price period to sell hot water for BGN 331.83/MWh, which is currently BGN 131.82/MWh.

From July 1, they sent an application for prices to KEVR and from EVN "Heating Plovdiv", but the data in it are confidential. At the end of March, the company announced that according to their calculation, the final price of thermal energy for the customers of "EVN Toplofikatsia Plovdiv" would change by 13 percent - to BGN 156.94 per megawatt hour from the next regulatory period.

At" Heating Pernik" and "Heating Sliven" the data is also deleted in their applications.

Normally, KEVR makes adjustments to the pricing elements of all companies, applying a common approach. A public discussion on the topic is to be held.

The KEVR will announce its final decision on the price of steam and hot water by June 30, and when issuing it, it will specify the pricing elements based on the current information at the end of June.
