Municipality of Teteven begins inspection for violations after heavy rain last week in the resort village of Ribaritsa. The signal was submitted by the mayor of Ribaritsa, where the torrential rain caused damage to 43 properties.
On May 22, people from 43 properties on one street woke up under water. A week later, the cleaning of mud from homes and street grates begins.
“For five days no one asked if we were okay. Now they have already started cleaning, because the television will come”, say the residents of Ribaritsa.
Television comes a little later. The excavator is already behind the concrete bars built around a private property, BTV reports.
„We see this ring here is blocked, is there only one left?
- I don't know only one is“.
The remaining rings of the state drainage system are in one yard. People say that it is privately owned. And who took them out - it is not officially known.
„These rings are taken out of here and put in there. They take the track from above. And there were supposed to be other drains on the street, but they are closed and those that are at Fi 300 and are at a negligible depth have been opened, says Zivko Hristov, a resident of Ribaritsa.
Only 50 meters further up the same street is a working drainage shaft from which none of the rings have been removed. The shaft here has absorbed all the rain and there is no damage to the neighboring houses.
According to the municipality, all the rings were removed without permission. This is not found for the construction of the concrete wall either. The mayor filed a report in the municipality of Teteven, because that's where they issue the documents.
„It is set up for sale. As you can see – well fenced, seeded with ryegrass, leveled. This is what I found out when I came, it was again a property, but it was a ravine,”, claims the mayor of Ribaritsa Penka Ganeva.
Our team was unable to contact the property owner. From the municipality of Teteven - also. According to their data, the property belongs to Hristo Draganov and was purchased 3 years ago.
„He is on vacation in Turkey and as far as I know he is not picking up his phone. I expect him to appear here at any moment, if he has the courage to appear at all. Here, the work of the legal department is very important, in order to form a claim”, says the deputy mayor of Teteven Boris Vrabevski.
The local committee starts work tomorrow.
