Dimitar Glavchev answered Rumen Radev about NATO and Ukraine - 1

NATO is a defensive alliance and has no plans to participate in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev stated this to BTA in Kozloduy.

His comment was on the occasion of President Rumen Radev's statement that “the hasty reactions of our politicians and our institutions that Bulgaria will not send troops to Ukraine mean absolutely nothing if another NATO member state provokes a direct confrontation with Russia“.

Glavchev explained that during a conversation "in private" with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, he said that “the art, actually, and the goal is how, by helping Ukraine, we do not involve NATO”.

The President refers to Art. 5th, he said that any NATO country, if attacked, would be protected by the entire alliance. It is so – if attacked, it will be defended, but none of the NATO countries intend to attack Russia. This was emphasized by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, said Dimitar Glavchev.
