The sending of Bulgarian soldiers to Ukraine has never been discussed, acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said at the beginning of today's government meeting, BTA reports.
Glavchev pointed out that the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, held in Sofia, gave “an opportunity for some to show their capabilities on the occasion of hybrid attacks and disinformation”.
The rumor that Bulgaria will send soldiers to Ukraine persisted, which, of course, has nothing to do with it. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg himself said that not only Bulgaria, but NATO as an alliance in general has no such intentions. Nothing like this has ever been discussed, Glavchev emphasized.
Telling the truth is the best way to prevent such attacks and fight disinformation, commented the Acting Prime Minister. He called for listening to what the experts have to say. We, as a team and as a government, are always ready to say what the reality is. This is the best way to combat misinformation – transparency, added Dimitar Glavchev.
BTA recalls that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted a declaration of support for Ukraine until victory at the forum in Sofia.
