A meeting with residents of Malko Tarnovo was held by candidates for people's representatives from the list of “BSP for Bulgaria” for 2 MIR Burgas for the upcoming elections, reports the party's press center. During it, the leader of the list Eng. Petar Kanev, the municipal chairman of the BSP-Burgas Eng. Parush Parushev, who is in third position, Dora Petkova, twenty-first, Georgi Baklev, twenty-third and the regional coordinator of the socialists talked to the people in Burgas engineer Zivko Gospodinov, who occupies twenty-fifth place.
Voters had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the highlights of the coalition's pre-election platform. BSP representatives indicated the long-term goals that the socialists consider to be priorities: implementation of a social-solidarity model for state, economic, public and personal development, protection of the constitutional order, upholding the principles of a progressively developing legal state in a peaceful world, increasing the well-being of the Bulgarian people and protecting the public interest.
Providing higher incomes for pensioners by recalculating all pensions is the proposal they are making to at least partially solve the financial problems of the elderly. Legal settlement of mandatory payment of Christmas and Easter supplements for all pensioners, increase of the so-called A “widow supplement”, an increase in the Teachers' Pension Fund supplement and the provision of free medicines for people over the age of 75 are among other important measures that they say need to be introduced.
The candidates for national representatives also indicated what should be done for the workers. According to them, the minimum wage for 2025 should be in the amount of BGN 1,100, and the daily unemployment benefit should be increased. It is also necessary to increase workplace safety and overcome the phenomenon of the “working poor” in order to guarantee decent incomes.
Primary policies to achieve growth in income and the purchasing power of citizens by taming inflation, setting a tax-free minimum and reforming the tax system to ensure fiscal stability, family income taxation, growth of social payments.
The leader of the lists, Eng. Petar Kanev, thanked those present for the trust they have shown and called on them to be active and to support with ballot number 24 on election day.
