Bulgaria will not send military personnel to Ukraine, it will only participate in the EU training mission

Bulgaria will not send military personnel to Ukraine, they said again from the Ministry of Defense in position.

Only the National Assembly can take a decision on the participation of Bulgarian troops in operations outside the territory of our country. Such a proposal was never on the agenda, the MoD is categorical.

"We remind you that, in compliance with a decision of the National Assembly, our country has declared participation in the training mission of the European Union to assist Ukraine. The personnel training takes place on the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Poland and other EU member states. Within the framework of this mission, the training of combat paramedics in Bulgaria is planned - up to 60 people in one year", the Ministry of Defense also states in the position.

This is not the first time that the Ministry of Defense has stated that Bulgarian military personnel will not be sent to the territory of Ukraine. Bulgaria will not participate in any way with military personnel on the territory of Ukraine, the department indicated at the end of May, BTA recalls.

This hybrid support that we are going to send troops to Ukraine also greatly affects the candidates for military service, commented the Acting Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov during the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which took place from May 25 to 27 in Sofia. We have no intention of sending troops to Ukraine because our parliament has not made such decisions.
