This campaign was remarkable. Largely because of the lack of contact between the participants in the election campaign. Elections are a time to present your candidates instead of identifying yourself through the negation of others. We are in the mode of an overdose of democracy. Everyone is tired – both the people and the participants in the electoral process. Old staples are thrown around, but there was a more mature level of realism. There's a change in people, too. This was stated by the deputy chairman of GERB and leader of the list in Gabrovo, Tomislav Donchev, in the show "Face to Face". on bTV, quoted by novini.bg.
„There is an expectation of a normal government with a full mandate that will do its job. People are disgusted by political scandals. People are interested in all the suspended investments, in the infrastructure projects, in the economic situation in the country and they are scared by what is happening around us“, he explained.
„Scaring people is low political technology and does these politicians no credit. Not that the situation isn't alarming. The Bulgarian is scared. The conflict is extremely close to our borders, Donchev pointed out.
When asked whether GERB are inclined to work again with representatives of "We continue the change (PP), Tomislav Donchev stated: "We are rather tolerant. To the question of whether a new partnership with PP-DB is possible, the answer is difficult and ambiguous. A formula that is natural must be found. Politicians make a common mistake – underestimate people. The last year has seen a crooked construction that accomplished almost nothing. Partnerships in the next parliament are either very difficult or impossible. "We have not had talks about a coalition with anyone," he explained.
„ GERB's campaign is far more modest than that of PP“, summarized Donchev and gave an example of the number of billboards in Sofia and called for an inspection.
He was adamant that this time a government should be formed. “It is not good to start with red lines. From our conversations with our people, we must protect their dignity, which does not include us giving up our championship in favor of the second one,“, said the leader of the GERB-SDS list in Gabrovo.
„We must do the impossible to break this cycle of elections. We are on the verge of people telling themselves that there is no use in elections. We're back in the early 90s, when we hated each other politically. "In order to move forward, Bulgaria cannot carry so much hatred," Donchev stressed.
