Election day begins with no reports of serious crimes that could hinder voting. This was announced by the Ministry of the Interior. During the night, no serious incidents were reported that would disturb the public order.

Bulgarian citizens elect 240 representatives in the 50th National Assembly, as well as 17 MEPs.

In the country, the election day started at 7:00 a.m. and will end at 8:00 p.m. or no later than 9:00 p.m. if there are non-voting voters in front of the section.

All necessary measures have been taken to protect public order, fire safety and ensure a peaceful election day. The employees of ODMVR-Sofia have taken over the security of all sections on the territory of the district.

Citizens can report violations related to violations that hinder the normal course of the election process and are related to the activity of the Ministry of the Interior, to the 24-hour telephone line of the Ministry 02/90 112 98 and to the e-mail [email protected], as well as to the situation center of ODMVR-Sofia on phone 02/982-50-93 and email [email protected]

Even today, the employees of the "Bulgarian Identity Documents" sector at the ODMVR-Sofia they will work from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will issue certificates (for lost/stolen/damaged/destroyed ID cards and expired documents) so that citizens can exercise their electoral rights. Applications for the issuance of certificates will be accepted until 7:00 p.m.

The Ministry of the Interior reminds that armed persons and those carrying objects dangerous to the life and health of citizens are not allowed in the election premises. The use of mobile phones, cameras or other recording equipment for the purpose of recording the voting process is prohibited.

The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs intervene to restore order when this is necessary and there is a corresponding decision of the electoral commission.
