The Burgas Court of Appeal changed the sentence of the District Court – Burgas and imposed a higher punishment on the man who attempted to intentionally kill a 21-year-old girl. The court increased the “imprisonment” from 8 to 12 years old, reported BNT.
The defendant was found guilty of the fact that on March 14, 2022 in an apartment in Burgas made an attempt to deliberately kill a girl. The man stabbed her multiple times, including in the head, causing multiple physical injuries. The crime was committed in a particularly painful way for the victim and remained unfinished due to reasons beyond the will of the perpetrator /due to highly specialized treatment/.
The crime was committed after drinking alcohol during a birthday party in the apartment of the injured girl and her sister.
The defendant must also pay the victim the sum of BGN 120,000 as compensation for non-property damages.
The decision of the Court of Appeal – Burgas is subject to appeal before the Supreme Court of Cassation.
