According to Simeon Dyankov: Boyko Borisov will become the prime minister of the new government - 1

“Boyko Borisov will propose a government and become prime minister. That's the obvious decision at this point”. This scenario was outlined in the bTV studio by former Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov.

In his words, the three parties – GERB-SDS, DPS and ITN have enough majority to rule together.

"I have a pretty optimistic view of what will happen. The people have clearly shown that they do not want another election, but a regular government. Second – has a mandate to form such a center-right government - GERB-SDS, DPS and ITN. Third – there is clearly a prime minister, namely Boyko Borisov. And fourth – there are clear priorities," Dyankov pointed out.

"The priorities are clear – full Schengen, the Eurozone, the Recovery and Development Plan and aid to Ukraine. On these four topics, GERB, DPS and ITN agree", he added.

We also see how Europe is going through a process of reorientation – it comes out more on the far right, on the far left. We need steady hands and Boyko Borisov is the most experienced and stable politician," Simeon Dyankov believes.

„Within the next year, a regular government can bring Bulgaria into both the Eurozone and Schengen. If you pin this on your lapel as prime minister, you will go down in history”, said the former finance minister

„The good thing in politics that Kiril Petkov and PP brought is that there is much more transparency and many more eyes are watching to ensure that there is no corruption. So for me their coming into politics was and remains a very positive effect. But this effect will be secondary at the moment. At the moment, we need a regular government," Simeon Dyankov was emphatic.

According to him, right now the PP should be in opposition, which will be good for both them and society.

When asked if Boyko Borisov offered him the position of finance minister, whether he would accept, Dyankov said that he would think about it because of the topic of the eurozone.

„For me, it is completely realistic that we will be accepted into the Eurozone sometime in the late spring of 2025, if we have a good regular government,”, he believes.
