From The public council for the future children's hospital warns in a letter to the president and the prime minister about pressure from various institutions. The letter is also addressed to the National Assembly, the Minister of Health and the media, BNT reported.

"The main role of the OS is and has always been aimed at ensuring maximum transparency for the public in the process of building a National Children's Hospital and ensuring constructive communication with the Minister of Health and the Health Investment Company for a Children's Hospital, so this project to be carried out in an optimal period of time and while ensuring European quality standards", the letter says.

Why "Trade League" wants the dissolution of the Public Council for the National Children's Hospital?

"The activity of each member of the General Assembly is voluntary and gratuitous, we are guided only by the publicly available rules of activity of the General Assembly, and each meeting of the General Assembly is recorded, and the minutes and reports are public," supplemented by the OS.

"Each of us, within our professional history and experience, has championed the cause of children's health care as the main priority of the state. Therefore, we would not like to reduce the discussion of its development to personal attacks, accusations and opposition between private and public interests,”, the letter states.

"The National Children's Hospital should provide complex medical and psychological care for children, and the state should set as its main priority the personnel, material and financial provision of these needs, and the OS has insisted that this priority be upheld with concrete actions and commitments", the letter added.

The Public Council expressed concerns about the state's policy regarding children's health care, and not concerns about one or another private entity and its investments, the letter also states regarding allegations that the canceled decision of the Council of Ministers to allow future a hospital with a private investor interest is under pressure, following statements by members of the Public Council.

"Objections to the decision of the Council of Ministers to approve the investment project have been raised by a number of organizations from the non-governmental sector, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, a number of politicians, including chairmen of political parties,”, the OS also states.

"In this sense, the question of what motives and for what reasons the Council of Ministers decided to cancel its initial act should not be addressed to us. Despite our concern about the vocabulary used towards us and the approaches by which an attempt is made to silence the activity of the Public Council, we declare that we will continue our activity in accordance with the established rules and in favor of the public interest, the letter also says.

Marina Gineva, member of the Board of Directors of the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Children's Diseases “Prof. Ivan Mitev, Nadezhda Tsekulova, representative of the National Citizens' Initiative "For a Real Children's Hospital", Nadezhda Rangelova, Chairman of the Foundation "For the Good", Maria Brestnichka, representative of the "National Network for Children" and Dr. Vesela Banova, chairman of the "Child and space" association.

Earlier today, the Bulgarian Pediatric Association requested the Central Ethics Commission of the Bulgarian Medical Union to take a stand regarding a letter from a private investor, destroying the authority of all doctors in Bulgaria.

A few days ago, the Board of Directors spread information on Facebook, according to which members of the Council were called to the DANS because of a complaint from the investor.
