The National Assembly continues its work, the Presiding Council will determine the agenda - 1

After the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly today, the new Parliament can now continue his work, BNT reported.

Before the meeting, a chairman's council will be held, at which the agenda of the deputies and the main priority laws for the individual parliamentary groups should be discussed.

People's representatives are also expected to discuss the request made yesterday by Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev to the parliament to decide who will represent Bulgaria at the upcoming NATO Summit, which will be held in early July in Washington.

According to Glavchev, in view of the importance of the forum, it is expedient that the level of participation in the meeting from the Bulgarian side be determined after a ruling by the National Assembly as soon as possible, given the deadline for the procedures for registering the national delegations in the forum, which expires today.

The election of the Speaker of the Parliament can also trigger the mandate procedure for forming a government. The approval of Raya Nazaryan was set as the main condition by GERB-SDS for the continuation of negotiations for a cabinet.

The leader of the formation, Boyko Borisov, reminded that they will concentrate on the first mandate, which, according to him, is the only possible one. He is adamant that he will not back down from insisting that the positions of prime minister and ministers of foreign affairs and defense be for GERB.

DPS again insisted on a Euro-Atlantic cabinet. And ITN want the third term in order to propose an expert government and thus assume all responsibility. The other parties represented in the parliament have not yet responded to the invitation to talk about a government and are adamant that they will not support a GERB-SDS cabinet.
