A fire is burning right next to the Roma settlement in Petrich, the fire is currently under control and there is no danger to the residents or their buildings, BNT reported.
They are mainly burning waste and dry grassy vegetation, said Kiril Stoykov - secretary of the Municipality of Petrich and head of the voluntary formation at the Municipality. Three fire engines are on the scene.
Stoykov explained that the officers from the Municipal Guard have warned the residents to get out of the houses and are re-checking whether everyone is out.
The volunteer formation is on standby and if they receive information from the fire department that they need help, they will get involved.
