Regarding his so-called self-detention, she said: “I was mostly surprised by the fact that our justice system and the Ministry of Internal Affairs were surprised by the appearance of Brendo in front of the prison. However, Ivelin Banev has submitted three or five times a request that he wants to serve his sentence in Bulgaria. What exactly surprised them?! Not to mention that there are reports that he was in Bulgaria. Then why were they looking for him abroad?!“.
Nadia Cholakova was categorical that Ivelin Banev-Brendo is in a very strong position in Bulgaria, because she holds the elite in our country with sensitive information for them. According to her, several party leaders, senior police officers and magistrates should be worried.
„On the one hand, if something is wrong, he can decide to speak up, but on the other hand – if he decides to speak, they can approach him like Vasil Bozhkov. But anyway – a person with his means and capabilities can easily retire”, she explained.
Nadia Cholakova explained that he practically has no way to escape from his sentences, which is why sooner or later he had to go to prison.
„It is also claimed that he has been off cocaine for four years – after the spectacular arrest in Ukraine. From that moment on, he reorganized his legal business“, she also pointed out.
