Next week it will be traffic in the “Topli Dol“ and “Praveshki inns“ of AM “Hemus“ in the direction of Varna and will be able to be carried out without restrictions. The repair of the two tunnels will continue in the autumn in the pipes to Sofia. The interruption of construction works is to ease traffic during the summer tourist season.

Inspection of the repair works in the facilities was carried out today by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Eng. Violeta Koritarova. The chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency also took part in the inspection. Eng. Yordan Valchev and Eng. Vencislav Atanasov - member of the API Management Board.

The repair of the two tunnels will continue in the autumn in the pipes to Sofia. The interruption of construction work is to ease traffic during the summer tourist season. The estimated term for the final completion of the main repair of the two tunnels of the AM “Hemus“ is the summer of 2025. The major repair of the two tunnels in the pipes in the direction of Varna began in November last year. Tunnel “Warm valley“ has been in operation since 1985, and “Praveshki Inns” since the end of the 90s of the last century and have not been fundamentally repaired until now.

Later, Minister Koritarova, together with the regional governor of Ruse Dragomir Draganov and the management of the API, also checked the progress of the work on the construction of nearly 8 kilometers of the Byala bypass road, which is part of the future highway “Ruse– Veliko Tarnovo“. The section between km 61 to km 69 is under construction, for which there is a technical project and a construction permit. Excavation works are carried out to remove the humus layer, including connections for p.v. “Gara Byala“ and p.v. “Pricey“. For the remaining 27.5 km of the section – from km 40 to km 61 and from km 69 to km 76, a technical project has been presented, which is to be examined by experts in API For the section “Ruse– White“ a technical project is currently being prepared.

We are working hard in the section “ Bypass town of Byala” with a length of 35.4 km on the "Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo" highway. By the beginning of September, public contracts for engineering and construction supervision will be announced for the “Byala– Veliko Tarnovo“, announced Violeta Koritarova.

Tomorrow, July 10, Minister Koritarova will launch the major repair of the Danube bridge near Ruse. Construction activities will take place without stopping traffic and the facility will not be closed. The site will be worked on daily for 10-12 hours a day, during the daylight hours. The work process will be organized and carried out in such a way that vehicles pass in stages in both directions in the non-work lane. Construction works will be carried out in 6 stages. In the first two is the main repair of the overpass of the facility on Bulgarian territory. First, traffic will be restricted in the lane for entry into Bulgaria, and then for exit in the direction of Romania. The estimated time for the completion of the repair works in this section is about 4 and a half months for each of the lanes.

For better organization of traffic, traffic regulation will be carried out with an adaptive traffic light system. It will be able to be moved and placed in the relevant part of the bridge that is being repaired. The size and height of the facility does not allow safe work at night, and the protection of life and health of travelers and construction workers on the site is of the utmost importance. If the execution of some activities can be done safely during the dark part of the day, it will be done.
