Extradition proceedings against a US citizen accused of sexual exploitation of children have ended. This was announced by the Appellate Prosecutor's Office in Sofia, as the proceedings have been started in the District Prosecutor's Office - Blagoevgrad.
American citizen OFH-K, 35 years old, is wanted by Interpol with a red notice for crimes committed in the USA related to the sexual exploitation of children - receiving and possessing child pornography. The acts are punishable by "imprisonment" for a maximum period of up to 20 years.
The accused was detained on May 13 in Blagoevgrad and identified in the proper manner. At the request of the prosecutor's office, he was remanded in custody.
After receiving a formal request for extradition from the United States District Court for the District of Alaska, the District Attorney's Office filed it with the court for consideration.
By decision of the District Court, the immediate extradition of OFH-K was allowed.
