This is what one of the security guards of the warehouses with fireworks and pirates told bTV.
On the fateful evening, pyrotechnics were being prepared for a big wedding. And the deceased son of the owner arrived minutes before the explosion.
Veselin Mitev has been working at the warehouses near Elin Pelin since they were built in 2012. He is one of the four security guards. On Thursday, however, his colleague was on shift.
„He is a bit in shock. He was in the security booth. He shouts: “I heard a loud explosion, thunder, and he just stuck me to the wall”. The security booth was around the corner and he saw the bodies of the docent and his daughter thrown out. The shock wave drove them out”, says Veselin Mitev.
The security guard on duty also told him that the docent was moving, so he helped him to get his daughter out of the scene of the accident.
„He tried to find the other two, but the fire and smoke prevented him. He has put his clothes over his mouth to prevent suffocation. But he can't say where it all started – in which room the explosion took place”, the security guard also tells.
Other people often went to the warehouses with Associate Professor Petar Shishkov. Among them were his daughter and the 60-year-old man believed to be the fourth victim.
„They make zaria. What exactly is their job – "I can't say," explains Veselin Mitev. Are the pyrotechnics stored according to the rules – the guard can't tell either.

The son of the warehouse owner, who is among the victims, also went there often, the guard tells us. On the fateful evening, he went minutes before the explosion to pick up the dinner prepared for the wedding of his acquaintances.
„They came with some bus to see, to take her this dawn. He comes, enters, but does not leave,”, the security guard claims.
There have been no accidents in the warehouses before. Veselin Mitev adds that after what happened, he constantly thinks about what could have happened if he had been at work.
„Over 100 people called me to ask where I am, if I'm home”, the security guard admits through tears.
You also had a dog at work – Bear. Shortly before the explosion, his colleague untied him so that he could hide in the shade.
Three days later, they found the dog not far from the warehouses. Today, Veselin Mitev takes care of him.
