The Sofia Appellate Prosecutor's Office canceled the decree on bringing Nikola Tuparev as a defendant.
According to the magistrates, there is no evidence of a crime committed in the covers of the case.
The producer was accused of embezzling money between March 11 and September 16, 2020 – property of a company in which he is a partner. According to the prosecutor's office, the amount amounts to BGN 1.441 million.
On July 4, during the hearing of the television producer's remand before the court, the Sofia Appellate Prosecutor's Office refused the request of its colleagues from the city prosecutor's office that Tuparev be detained. Thus, he finally remained free without an imposed measure, reports BTA.
The prosecutor who charged Tuparev is Dimitar Frantisek. On July 1, i.f. chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov ordered a comprehensive review of the work on the case.
